External application error

If an exception occurs during one of the component's events, the component will catch the exception, fire the Error event with information about the error, and then continue what it was doing (if possible). After the method has completed, the component will re-throw the original exception with an exception Code of -1, calling it an "External application error" since it occurred outside the control of the component.
